Celestial Sailors

This is our story. A story of people nurturing a dream of sailing to the far corners of the world on a journey filled with exciting adventures and encounters with other cultures; but mostly, an odyssey filled with inner discoveries.

A story of parents wishing to spend priceless time with their children, knowing that this journey will forever weld our souls together, an endeavour undertaken by people fresh out of a ten day Fast Track to Cruising® Course offered by Offshore Sailing School. Though both my wife and I were novice sailors before the course, we felt that the competent teaching methods, and thorough, practical seamanship application gave us the necessary tools to go ahead with our dream.

The first leg of our voyage will be to sail to the Bahamas, then onwards to Turks and Caicos, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgins, southbound, until we make landfall in Brazil where we’ll navigate the Amazon in early 2008.

My wife, Sotiria and I have shared many wonderful journeys in life. We’ve worked in distinguished careers in law enforcement. We’ve walked hand in hand along the mystical path of spiritual quests, and now, inspired by Offshore Sailing School, we’re casting off on a courageous global sailing adventure with our two young sons, Matteo and Dantes.

We took this course with ‘near zero’ sailing experience, but a few short weeks after completion, our family made a decision that will forever change our lives. I happen to believe that Offshore Sailing School gave my wife and me the required confidence and abilities to safely embark on our wonderful journey.
