Access to Sailing

Join the Sailing Club and sail all summer. No initiation fee. The most active sailing club in NY Harbor.

Offshore graduates enjoy carefree sailing and camaraderie on award-winning Colgate 26 sailboats. Casual daysails, special events, parties, clinics and racing for the competitive.

Course Calendar

Sailing Lessons – The tuition for a 2-hour group sailing lesson is $120 per person, with a maximum of four participants (minimum two) per boat. Private lessons (just you and your instructor) are also available at $120 per hour, per person, minimum two hours. More

Learn to Sail in 3-Days – from $795
In just three days you'll gain the skills to sail a 26 to 30 foot sailboat with confidence! Weekend and week day schedules. Earn Colgate Day Sailing Certification. (save $100 if two or more sign up together) More

Live Aboard Cruising 4-Days from $1775
Learn to cruise in just four days on the waters surrounding Manhattan and Jersey shores. Get the real feel of living and learning aboard a brand-new 45-foot Hunter sailing yacht, departing from our Liberty Landing campus. Colgate Coastal Cruising and Bareboat Cruising Certification. More

Bareboat Cruising 4-Days – from $1395

Two-Hour Lessons
If you just want to get a feel for sailing or brush up on a special technique, two-hour lessons are available at all locations.

The tuition for a group sailing lesson is $60 per hour, per person, minimum two hours. Sailing lessons require a minimum of two participants per boat (maximum of four participants) plus an instructor.

Private lessons (just you and your instructor) are also available at $120 per hour, minimum two hours. In a private lesson, your instructor will work with you on any aspect of sailing you like.

Sailing lessons are offered by appointment, subject to availability.

Reserve your course online!
Website bookings are available for most courses with a $300 refundable deposit. A sailing advisor will confirm your choice the next business day. For all reservations, a 30% deposit of the total package is due 60 days prior to your course start date. Full payment is required for reservations less than 60 days out.
